What people think about Nido...

Testimonials of students, universitites and parents on student housing Nido

Institutions:

'Over the past year Regents College has rented a number of rooms off Nido for our students. This seems to work well, allowing the College to offer an extra service and the students to benefit from high quality, centrally located housing. For these reasons and because the Nido staff are so efficient and easy to work with, the College will be continuing this arrangement for the coming year.' - James Barnes, Accommodation Officer, Regents College.

“Living at Nido gives you the opportunity to live in the best student housing in London. The 24hrs security are always very helpful, and the location of the housing is ideal since it is located just steps away from Kings Cross Station, which connects to almost all subway lines in London. The facilities at the dorm are also very good, with the cafeteria, movie room, and gym, all offering good alternatives for things to do. Overall, having experienced different student housing in London, Nido is by far the best. Even though you sacrifice some space in terms of room size, having you own bathroom, and nice amenities more then makes up for it. Living at Nido has been an extremely positive experience.” - Stefan de Rougemont, Program Director, University of Dreams

'I first came across NIDO in December 2007 as I was looking for a possible location for our new summer program. I sent an email asking questions and within a day I got a response, which has led to a two year relationship with the staff there. NIDO has provided the Virginia Tech program with an excellent and affordable opportunity for our students. We have stayed at NIDO Kings Cross in Summer 2008 and Summer 2009 and it has been fantastic. You can’t beat the location in Central London with King’s Cross/St. Pancreas within close walking distance. My students and I really enjoyed the quality of their rooms, as well as the different amenities such as the game room, movie room, café, TV lounges and the fitness center. They also enjoyed the opportunity to interact and meet the others students at NIDO. The staff was exceptional from the 24 hour security, the desk staff, the RAs, the administrative staff and the housekeeping and maintenance staff. If something was needed, it was addressed immediately. Overall, it was an excellent and affordable opportunity for my students, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with NIDO so that future Virginia Tech students can take advantage of this opportunity.' -Ray Plaza, group sponsor/faculty member from Virginia Tech.

'William Mitchell College of Law has conducted a summer law session in London for more than ten years. For the first time in summer 2009 the students stay at the NIDO facility near King's cross and St. Pancreas. The quality of the NIDO accommodations exceeded those we had used in prior years. The facility was excellent. Both the double and single rooms provided clean, safe and comfortable accommodations. There was sufficient room for the students to study, the kitchens and private food lockers for cold and dry goods, the private shower and toilets and the reasonable cost were an important factor in our selecting NIDO. The facility was safe and the security provisions were excellent. Access to a gym facility, restaurant and common rooms were important factors. The staff at NIDO responded to our student's needs and dealt quickly with even the minor problems. We are pleased with NIDO and hope to use the facility in the summer of 2010.' - John Sonsteng, Professor of Law and Director of Mitchell in London.

Parents:

'Katie researched places to stay, and chose Nido for it's wonderful location close to the school, buses and underground. She knew that it was quite new, and also thought that it would have students older than the usual undergrad residence. She liked the option of having her own space and cooking facilities. We were interested in safety, comfort, cost and location. When I came to help her get settled for those first few days, what I learned was very heartening and reassuring. I was impressed with the cleanliness and brightness of the buildings, the daylight in the rooms and quietness of the halls. I was impressed with the security system, not so noticeable, yet obviously in place and vigilant. Thank you for your wonderful residence. It is a comfort to know that Katie is in good hands' - Joan Hunter, Canada.

'My key choice criteria for Martin were school proximity, safety and security, comfort. Nido was the only accommodation offering matching them all and Nido rooms are by far the best I could find. I’d like to point out the importance of the website, which makes it easy to find all the needed information to make a choice... without having visited '- Catherine Woreczek, France.

Students:

'While searching in internet I found Nido and some other student accommodations but the adviser at International Student House recommended Nido. People working at Nido welcomed us in a warm and friendly manner. There was everything in the room that a student needs. My family was comfortable to leave me at Nido.  I can reach the management online whenever I want and ask their help for maintenance. I am away from my home, but never feel homesick at Nido' - Taylan Kerem Aydogmus from Istanbul, Turkey. Studying at the University of Westminster.

'Nido is like having a hotel room, but with a bigger table for studying, a kitchen and activities. It really is the best residence I have seen in London, as it is very new. I would definitely recommend Nido to a friend, although it is a bit expensive, but it is a fair price for the service received' - Tomás Vara Perez-Porro from Spain. Studying at SOAS.

'I thought that it would be great to have my own space to live, in the centre of London, and that I would probably meet a lot of people from different backgrounds thanks to the activities Nido organises. I would definitely recommend Nido to my friends.' - Isaura Saguer from Spain. Studying at Birkbeck College.

I thought that Nido was the best solution for what I wanted. You can have your own place to study and in the meanwhile you can participate in various Nido activities and meet students from all over the world who are, also here, in London, for their studies. Would I recommend Nido to other students? Definitely! - Kyriakos Syrmakezis from Greece. Studying at City University at Cass Business School.

Leaving home is never easy. More so if you leave home for a foreign locale. When I left India to come to study in London, the concerns my parents had, were numerous and assorted. Nido came as the answer to almost all their myriad concerns and today my parents can sleep restfully without stressing and worrying about me because they know I am safe at Nido.
Also living independently throws up on tons of responsibilities which sometimes can interfere with the process of giving your undivided attention to academics. But at Nido this is not the case for sure. Getting things fixed, no bills to be paid and having my room cleaned up - all get taken care of so unobtrusively that at most times I even forget that these are details intrinsic to living independently. - Anirudh Singh from New Dehli, India. Studying at UCL.
