Nido safety facts!
- RA's are available to take you to the hospital whenever you need it and are also trained in first aid.
- All guests are required to sign in and leave a form of ID at the front desk with security; if you are in Nido we know who you are!
- Nido King’s Cross has been equipped with a sophisticated fire detection system which will be activated if it senses extreme heat or smoke in any part of the residence. Each room is fitted with a door which also acts as a 30 minute fire safety protection in case of a fire in the building.
- Security staff are on call 24 hours a day and are also fully trained first aiders
- Nido is a smoke-free community in all residential and common-area locations of the building.
- As a matter of safety and security, we request all residents complete a travel itinerary prior to jetting off on the weekends. This is so that you can be accounted for if your parents, guardian or the university calls or if an event at Nido or in London occurs.
- Students own more expensive consumer goods per head than the rest of the population. It is no surprise then that 1 in 3 students becomes the victim of a crime each year. Nido incorporates state of the art security measures to ensure the safety of you and your belongings, however you are advised to refer to your handbook and note all safety precautions.
You know the drill
We run fire drills when you least expect it – just when you put on your cutest pair of pajamas and haven’t yet wiped off the moisturizing cream. Happens… but it’s got to be done. We also test out our security alarm system weekly. We have fire blankets in the rooms and fire extinguishers in the halls.
