Members of Residence Management Staff
Nido goes to great lengths to hire the best and brightest. We have an experienced Residence Management team in place as well as our Resident Life Staff who are on call 24/7 to assist in any way possible and to help organise events to allow you to get to know others in the building.
Chris Dayss is the Residence Manager at Nido Kings Cross. He is responsible for community development and overseeing the areas of student well being and pastoral care.
Chris began his career in Student Affairs as a student at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, USA. At Grand Valley, he was heavly involved with student activities and residence life. After Grand Valley Chris decided to pursue a Masters degree in the field he was passionate about at the University of Maine, while at Maine Chris ran a residence hall with about 300 students.
After obtaining his Masters Degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs at UMaine, Chris moved to Chicago where he became a Residence Manager at the University of Illinios at Chicago. At UIC Chris was responsible for the residence hall and for programming activities with the halls. After two years, Chris wanted to focus on his other passion, food!
Chris worked for Corner Bakery Cafe for 4 years as a General Manager. After that role, Chris worked for a large event catering company called Food For Thought Catering. In this position he created events for weddings and large corporate gatherings. In each of these roles, however, Chris kept getting pulled back to the thing he liked most. That is, working with students.
After moving to London he started working at Nido. This role is perfect for Chris because of his background in Student Affairs and operations. Chris is passionate about all students having a fantastic time while they live at Nido Kings Cross.
