Eye Lid Surgery

Eye Lift Surgery

The typical eyelid surgery patient has drooping layers of skin and deep wrinkles on the eyelids.

These lead to a tired and a sad looking appearance. This may run in families and is common in both men and women.

The Eyelid Surgery Procedure

A curved incision is made across the natural

crease of the skin and excess fat and

tissue is removed to lift and open

up the eye area.

faqFrequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What happens during eyelid surgery?
Cosmetic surgery to correct heavy, saggy or tired-looking eyelids is called upper blepharoplasty. The procedure removes excess skin and fat in the eyelids to provide tauter skin and a fresher looking eye area.

Eye bag before + after blepharoplasty

After the procedure, this patient's eyes and face look much brighter and more youthful without the eye lids.  This patient had both upper and lower blepharoplasty (i.e. eyelids and eyebag removal).

Q: Will the wrinkles return after eyelid surgery?
During your medical consultation your surgeon will point out that the skin will continue to age. It is important that you understand that the ageing process will not stop after eyelid surgery.

Q: Who is the best patient for eyelid surgery?
The most suitable candidate for eyelid surgery is someone who has wrinkles and/or drooping layers of skin on the eyelids.

Q: Could I have facial rejuvenation and eyelid surgery together?
It depends on your individual requirements.  If you would benefit from both procudres, the best results are achieved when the two procedures are combined resulting in a dramatic overall improvement.

Q: Will there be scarring after facial rejuvenation?
In the case of eye rejuvenation an incision is made close to the natural crease of the eyelid. During a facelift, incisions are made in the natural crease lines. In both procedures post operative scarring will fade over time and become virtually undetectable.
